Riga airport is still leading in the Baltics
Riga International Airport had 1.65 million passengers in the first half of the year 2008, which is 17.4% more than in the same period of 2007.
In June, Riga International Airport counted 346,137 passengers, which is 14.4% more than in June 2007
In the first half of the year, Tallinn International Airport had 900,190 passengers; Vilnius International Airport – 993,509.
The favorite destination from Riga was London, and 145,947 people traveled there in the first six months or 9% of the total number of passengers. The second most popular destination was Dublin, with 102,279 or 6.6% of the total number of passengers. In third place was Berlin; in fourth and fifth – Stockholm and Copenhagen.
The most popular airline at Riga International Airport still is Latvia's airBaltic, and 809,255 passengers were carried in the first six months of this year.
